Reconstitution & concentration calculator
Enter the mass in the vial and the volume of diluent you add. The calculator gives the concentration in mg/mL, µg/mL and µg/µL, and the volume that contains a target amount. Lab math only, for research materials.
1. Concentration
2. Volume that contains a target amount
How it works
Concentration = mass ÷ volume. 10 mg in 2 mL is 5 mg/mL, the same as 5,000 µg/mL or 5 µg/µL.
Volume = target amount ÷ concentration. At 5 mg/mL, 250 µg (0.25 mg) is in 0.05 mL, which is 50 µL.
The calculator uses the mass you enter. If your work needs net content rather than the labeled amount, use the net content from the lot’s certificate of analysis. Our lot-matched reports are in the COA library, each verifiable with the testing lab.
Common questions
How do I calculate concentration after reconstitution?
Divide the mass of material in the vial by the volume of diluent added. For example, 10 mg in 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL, which is 5,000 µg/mL or 5 µg/µL.
How do I find the volume that contains a target amount?
Divide the target amount by the concentration. At 5 mg/mL, 0.25 mg (250 µg) is contained in 0.05 mL (50 µL).
Does this calculator account for purity or net content?
No. It uses the mass you enter. If your lab work needs net content, use the net peptide content from the lot's certificate of analysis as the mass.
