Five questions before your first order
When a supplier you relied on closes, the next one is usually a site you have never ordered from. You can answer each of these questions from the supplier's own website, before you pay, in a few minutes. Ask them of every supplier on your shortlist, us included.
- Is there a third-party report for the lot I will receive?A report covers one sample from one production lot, so a useful one names its lot. When your parcel arrives, the lot on the vial label should be the lot on the report.Red flag: the same report attached to several products or strengths, or no lot number anywhere.
- Can the laboratory confirm the report? The report should name the lab that ran it and give a certificate number or verification link that works on the lab's own site. Then you are relying on the lab, not the seller.Red flag: no lab named, or a certificate number the lab cannot find.
- Can I read it before I pay?The report should be one click from the product page, with no account and no email request.Red flag: "available on request," or a report sent only after checkout.
- Where does it ship from, and when do I get tracking?A supplier should state its shipping origin and send tracking when the label is created.Red flag: no origin stated anywhere, and tracking only if you ask.
- Who do I contact if something is wrong?Look for a registered company name, a support email with stated hours, published return terms, and research-use-only terms throughout the site.Red flag: only a contact form, or product pages that make health claims or give use instructions.

Keep your old records
If you saved order confirmations or copies of lab reports from past orders, keep them. They are a useful baseline for comparing a new supplier's documentation.
- Compare report to report. A new supplier's report should give at least as much as the ones you already have: a named laboratory, a lot number, the method next to each result, a test date and a certificate number.
- Check the verification route. If your old reports could be looked up on a laboratory's website, expect the same from a new supplier. Try the link before you order.
- Write down lot numbers when your first order arrives. Match each vial label to its published report on the day you unpack it, while the paperwork is in front of you.
The limits of any checklist
- A report covers a sample from the lot. It was not run on the vial in your hands. Matching the label to the report is the step that connects them, and only you can do it.
- Paperwork does not show service. Shipping speed and how problems get solved show up in an actual order, not in a document.
- No checklist is a guarantee. Passing means a supplier's claims are open to being checked and caught out. That is the most a page like this one can show you before you buy.
